2004 Evil Companions Literary Award

The Evil Companions Literary Award (ECLA) is presented annually to poets and writers who embody the spirit of the West. The award is named for a group of Denver writers who met sporadically in the ’50s and ’60s to drink and discuss writing. One aim of the award is to extend and build upon Denver’s deserved reputation as a center for writing and literature.
Working to keep the spirit of the original Evil Companions alive are Joyce Meskis, owner of the Tattered Cover Book Store, Dana Crawford, owner of The Oxford Hotel, and Colorado State University, Professor of English, David Milofsky.
Richard Ford is the recipient of the 11th Evil Companions Literary Award.
