Summer Vacation

I have just returned from the long awaited summer vacation - two weeks at the lake, just north of Ottawa in Quebec. Once a year, we go there to enjoy long swims, great reads, long walks, fabulous food and good laughs with friends and family, and of course, lots of tall cool ones by the lake. Basically, it is a time to rejuvenate and recharge.
And then I read an article in the Ottawa Business Journal this week about how Canadians are overworked and take very little vacation. When we do take it, we often stay ‘plugged’ in either by e-mail or cell. Not the vacations we took years ago. Stress-leave is becoming an epidemic.

Great sea spot near Rome : Sperlonga

Summer in central Italy and more specifically in Rome can be overwhelming for its sometimes excessive heat peaks. For those staying longer or simply for returning visitors it is always a pleasure to discover other places in easy reach to make it a day trip.
120 kms south from Rome along the Pontina Road, lays the lovely small town and sea resort Sperlonga on the Mar Tirreno easy accessible by train from Termini station Rome from your central hotel in My Hotel Rome.
If you come by car follow the Pontina Road until Latina, then go ahead on Strada Mediana until Terracina and from there follow the Litoranea 213 (road along the seaside) until you reach Sperlonga.

HotelDesigns and RFP Magazine, the only magazine on real estate facilities and projects in Asia, have teamed up to test the level of commitment of the hospitality industry to water conservation and reuse. We look to quiz all managers, owners and even guests for their feelings of the level of concern or attention paid by the industry.
