W Hotels Heads to the Las Vegas of Asia

In its continued demand to select only world class destinations, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. have announced plans for a new W Hotel in Macao, further solidifying the brands extensive and rapidly growing global footprint. Scheduled to open in early 2009, this new-build W hotel will be located within the Macao Studio City complex, situated on Cotai, an area earmarked by the Macao government to become one of the main gaming, entertainment and resort developments in the Special Administrative Region. W Macao Studio City will make its debut in 2009, offering 563 guest rooms, in addition to the innovative design and full-range of branded amenities guests have come to expect of W Hotels.

If I have $4 million in pocket change AND bored with terrestrial vacation spots, I may consider getting off the planet. Galactic Suite, a Spanish venture, will meet my needs. They seek to open a hotel in space by 2012.

"Before the flight, guests would get 8 weeks of intensive training at a space camp on a tropical island."
It is uncertain that the "tropical island" will add to the intensity of the training, but one can hope they have good room service up in orbit.

Gran Sasso

Well Wednesday came again and it was my day off. So on Wednesday morning I was on the metro at 5:30 in the morning off to metro stop Baldo degli Ubaldi. I met Alberto at around 6:30 and then we got on our way. We had both decided the week before that we would go climb at Gran Sasso.
 
The park is about between 2 and 2 and a half hours drive from Rome. The earlier you manage to leave Rome in the morning the easier it is to get out of the city befor there is too much traffic. So we were finally going back to the park. He hadn’t been there in a year and the last time I was there was about 6 months ago with another friend. It was great and the weather was perfect.
